Vikings investigations

1st year Social Subjects classes have been investigating the Vikings.

Staff have suggested six possible areas that the Vikings were involved in:

  • raiding
  • trading
  • religion
  • crafts
  • exploring
  • settling

Each group has a small collection of books on their desk. For each topic, pupils have to skim through the books, looking for images that provide evidence for each of these activities.

Some classes have been using websites and non-fiction to create a poster about Viking adventures as raiders or traders or another of the activities. Other classes have created posters displaying all six topics.

I like the Viking investigation. I really liked it when we did the poster on them.
