Investigating the World Cup

Most of you will know that the World Cup is taking place in South Africa over June and July so Mrs Fitzpatrick’s 1st year French classes came to the LRC to find out about the countries taking part in the World Cup.

Pupils worked in pairs to investigate one of the countries – picked at random – and its culture, its football team and where in South Africa they would be playing, along with any other useful facts they could find out.

We provided pictures of male and female footballers as models for the strips, blank world and South Africa maps for highlighting the country’s location and where their team was playing and world flags.

And just as a nice wee surprise at the end of the period, we asked everyone to share something they’d discovered about their country with the rest of the class 🙂
