Cook’s thesaurus

School holidays are pretty much the only time I get to check and update the useful links that are listed on the school website. Not the most interesting of jobs, but a necessary one. Many sites will be removed from the web or their URL will be changed so they’ve got to be checked regularly.

Today I’ve started to rebuild the Hospitality links, which means I’ve got to look at food (a job best done after lunchtime) . A really great website for Hospitality is the Cook’s Thesaurus which lists and pictures hundreds of different kinds of food. If you want to tell the difference between a carambola (left) and some kala channa, this is the site for you.

It’s a great site for Intermediate II Hospitality, who will be learning about the food and drink of Italy over the first few weeks of term.

That means researching it, cooking it and tasting it! Bring on the calamari!
