Eva Ibbotson

One of my favourite books to suggest to pupils is The Great Ghost Rescue by Eva Ibbotson. It’s a brilliant story to hand to all you people who think you “don’t like reading” (because you’re wrong – you’ve just not found the right book yet 🙂 ).

The Great Ghost Rescue is funny, scary, moving and sometimes downright weird. Sadly, the author, Eva Ibbotson, died yesterday. She wrote loads of other brilliant books like The Secret of Platform 13, Dial a Ghost and Journey to the River Sea and it’s a shame that there won’t be any more.

A film of The Great Ghost Rescue will be released next year. Read the book first.
