A 6th year pupil made an interesting suggestion at lunchtime today: why doesn’t the Queen fight crime?
His argument goes as follows:
- The Queen can’t be couldn’t be charged in the law courts (unless the law was changed, but then the Queen would have to agree to the change in the law … hmm) which means she could use whatever means necessary to bring criminals to justice.
- The element of surprise would be on her side, since criminals wouldn’t be expecting the Queen to leap from her carriage and arrest them.
So, should the Royal Family become the greatest crime-fighting force in the UK? What do you think?
