247 Tales

Most authors will tell you that the best way to become an author is to read and write as much as you can. 247tales is a writing competition that challenges you to write a short story in only 247 words or less, a perfect challenge for any budding writer.

This month’s theme is “In the dark“,  just in time for the clocks going back, unless your imagination strays to something more sinister…

The competition is open to anyone between 8 and 16. If you’re interested in taking part, come along to the LRC any lunchtime Monday – Thursday, or email your entry to me by Friday November 26th so I can forward all the entries by the closing date.

You could win £75 worth of books from Bloomsbury publishers, plus a framed copy of your story. Runners-up receive a signed copy of the guest author’s latest book. Winning and runner-up stories will be published on the 247tales website. The complete rules are available here.
