To celebrate award-winning author Jacqueline Wilson’s participation in our live Meet Our Authors broadcast on 27th January 2011, we’re offering one lucky reader the chance to meet Jacqueline Wilson, be part of the live audience at the BBC studios, have their very own short story published in the Sunday Herald, and win £100 worth of contemporary children’s books for their school.

Four lucky runners-up will also win a signed copy of Jacqueline Wilson’s latest book, The Longest Whale Song, which tells the story of Ella, and how her life changes when her mum gets ill.

To enter the competition, you must be between 10 and 14 years old. Entrants should write a short story, between 400 and 500 words, on the theme of Friendship or Family.
