A real author!

Well, we’ve seen our group being happy, thoughtful, mischievous, talkative, excited, very excited and extremely excited, but never before have they been struck dumb!

The cause of this malady was the lovely Keren David, who came to talk to us about her Catalyst shortlisted novel, When I was Joe.

The group included a 3rd year English class, a 4th year English class and our future novelists, who sat rapt. And what were the thoughts going through their heads at this time?

Scintillating questions in relation to the book?

The main thought running through their heads was, “This is a real life author! This woman has had a book published! Aaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh!”…

… or words to that effect.

But once they got over their shyness, Keren was surrounded and peppered with questions until we had to shoo them away to their next class, clutching notes of apology.

As they left, we asked them to put down all their thoughts onto the blog (although I may regret saying that).

And for the record, guys, Keren thought you were lovely and loved meeting you. She also told me that authors love knowing that real people are reading their books, so take a look at her blog and feel free to comment and ask questions.

I laugh… I still never got to ask my one question after all of my chances! It was great meeting Keren!
