Comic scenes

2nd year English classes will take on a new challenge this term, turning a fictional scene of their choice into a comic strip.

Each group has to choose a scene from a novel, poem or play, read it carefully, create a storyboard, decide on dialogue, organise props and costumes if required, and then take photographs before pulling everything together using the Comic Life software.

Classes have been furiously discussing their preferred books: Harry Potter has remained very popular, and Twilight, Coraline and Divided City have been discussed, but the runaway favourite so far has been Romeo and Juliet!

It remains to be seen how Shakespeare’s classic tragedy ends up in the hands of 2nd years at OLHS 🙂 He would have been proud that Ms McGhee’s class wanted to sing him Happy Birthday.
